I have not posted in quite a while because of the new blogger format...can not figure out for the life of me how to upload a photo on this new format...anyone know how??

Peep Show...

I saw these peeps in formal tuxedos on pinterest and had to try them out for Easter...not quite as simple as they looked but still pretty pleased with the final results...Happy Easter to all.

Easter Egg dying with the girls...

Lauren and Leah joined me in a night of eggcelent Easter egg dying and designing...we had some hits, some misses and a few cracked eggs but all in all a fanciful dozen beauties.

James Rizzy Watercolor Skyscrapers...

A fun artist to work with...the students really enjoyed painting these skyscrapers with human features.

Ocean Blue ...inspired by Matisse

Pint Size Picasso students worked on their cut paper techniques ..inspired by Matisse's Ocean Blue.

Paint Like an Egyptian....

Today in Imagine That Art Camp we went for the royal treatment...Egyptian style...painting ourselves as pharoahs and Cleopatra queens....the results were golden!

White on Winter White...

A beautiful pale white horse on a unusually "white" winter afternoon...what's that falling from the sky?

African Masks....

We opened up another session of "Imagine That" art camp this afternoon ...and jumped right into the mix with some tribal masks. A good way to start the month.

Both Sides Now....

"I've looked at life from both sides now...from win and lose...and still somehow...it's life's illusions I recall...I really don't know clouds at all...."

If my day job doesn't pan out....

...at least I know my diner will keep me going....now if I can just perfect those damn omelets!

Picasso's Three Musicians...

We ended our latest session of Imagine That art camp with Picasso's Cubist wonder..."The Three Musicians"...one student said it was like playing with paper dolls only cooler...guess that means it was a success!

The Roosters are in the house....

The terrifically colorful roosters are one of my all time favorite projects...they're inspired by Picasso's Le Coq...and I think all of the students were channeling his creativity when they worked on these. I would frame each and every one of them...love...love...love the results!

A week of Glorious Watercolors....

This week the "Imagine That" art camp focused on Picasso's Peace Doves while the younger set in Pint Size Picasso had a lesson on Paul Klee's Cat and Bird...they all used vibrant washes of watercolor and the results were spectacular....cheery colors for a sunny warm week in February.

Rockin' Roosters ala Pablo...

These little artists never cease to amaze me...I give them a starting point and the results are even better than I imagined...love these Picasso inspired rockin' rollin' roosters!

Northern Lights and Polar Bears...

First class in a new session of "Imagine That Art Camp" and the kids did a terrific job...we used oil pastels, paint and chalk pastels to make the Aurora Borealis behind the shadowy tall pines...and added some adorable polar bears to the forground...perfection!

It's Like Riding a Bicycle...

I took up the art of knitting a couple of years ago, inspired by my friend, Christine's nimble fingers...but stopped for some reason...and for the life of me I could not remember how to restart and cast on again...but suddenly this week it all came back to me...I guess it is kind of like riding a bicycle...once you learn you never forget.

Decisions...decisions....

Went wedding gown shopping today with Lauren...after trying on many dresses I have come to the conclusion that picking a dress is an art...but then Lauren is a wonderful artist so I'm sure it will be beautiful!

It's the little things...

All I ask is a warm cup of coffee and a great new art magazine to help inspire me....it's the little things :)

New Year..time to paint anew...

First day of 2012...thought it was a good day to get working again in the studio...been away for a while...felt good!
